Overview:
This craft was done
with children ranging from ages 4 to 7 years old. This was done in a classroom with children with down syndrome. The teacher incorporated this craft with a lesson about birds and nature. The students got the opportunity to to hang their bird feeders and watch the birds eat.
Materials:
- Bagels
- peanut butter
- Bird food
- Yarn
- Plastic spoon or fork.
Prep:
If you do not feel comfortable with your children using a plastic knife then use a spoon. Teacher or parent must cut the bagel in half for their students.Lastly, make sure that students do not have any peanut allergies when doing this craft.

Have students spread the peanut butter all over the bagel
Step Two:
Cover the bagel/ peanut butter with the bird seeds
Step Three:
Pull the yarn threw the center opening of the bagel, make a big enough loop then knot it. This is you're able to hang your bird feeder.
