Mother's Day Flower Pot

Overview

It's a fact; moms love flowers! Moms also love anything that their children make for them. Put those two things together and there we have flowers grown by their children. This mother's day a third grade classroom made vases out of coffee cans and they planted flowers to  give to their mothers on mother's day. This craft can also be incorporated into a lesson about plants and nature.

Materials 

• Coffee Can
• Acrylic Paint
• Flower seeds

Prep: 

Make sure you give enough time for the flowers to grow by mother's day.

                                   

Step One:

Have students paint and decorate the coffee can.

Step Two: 

Add soil and plant the seeds in the coffee can.

Step Three: 
Have students water their plants and leave them on the window sill so they receive enough sunlight to grow.
