Finger Painting A Fall Tree

Overview

This craft was done with a students ranging from 4 years old to 7 years old. Teachers can incorporate this craft into a lesson about fall and the changing of the colors. This craft was extremely messy but the students loved it.

Materials

  • Fall Colored Paints (We used Washable Paint)
  • Paper (We used 8 x 11)
  • Paint Brush

Prep

Make sure all surfaces are covered and your children are wearing their messy clothes.  Have Paints laid out for your children so they are ready to begin.

Step One:
Have your child cover their hand with the brown paint. You have either have them dip their hand in the paint or use the paint brush to cover their hand for them.

Step Two:
Using the paint brush, extend the tee trunk to the bottom of the paper. If you would like you could actually use your child's arm to make this part of the tree trunk

Step Three:
Have your child make the leaves of the tree using their fingers.
