Christmas Wreath

Overview:

This craft was done with a first grade class. This was done on a Friday during the free period. It was a simple and non-messy craft that the teacher was able to do with her students. It was done during the holidays so this gives teachers an idea to do with their students during the holidays.

Materials:

  • Green construction paper
  • Red tissue paper
  • String (any color you prefer)
  • Hole puncher
  • Glue

Step One: Have students trace their hands ten times on the green construction paper. Once they are done tracing their hands they can then cut them out.

Step Two: Glue the hands side-by-side in a circle to make the wreath shape. (Make sure to leave an opening in the middle)

Step Three: Decorating time! Have the students glue on the red tissue paper (red berries) on to their wreaths.

Step Four: Once they are done, the teacher should make a hole at the top to thread the string to hang the wreaths.
