Fish and Turtle Mosaic

This is best for Pre-k or Kindergarten.

Materials:
·         Blue Construction  paper
·         Sharpie
      Glue sticks
·         Orange construction paper
·         Black construction paper
·         Yellow construction paper
·         Brown construction paper
·         Dark green construction paper
·         Light green construction paper
·         Scissors

First:
Take the yellow, black, and orange construction paper cut it up into about small squares. Make sure the squares are not too small or this project will take much longer. Put these pieces in a bowl or container. These pieces will be for the fish.

Second:
Take the brown, dark green, and light green construction paper cut it up into about small squares. Make sure the squares are not too small or this project will take much longer. Put these pieces in a bowl or container. These pieces will be for the turtle.

Third:
Take the blue paper and cut out one fish for each student and one turtle for each student. Write their names on one side.

Four:
Explain to the students that they are going to be making a mosaic fish and turtle and that when you make a mosaic you want to cover all the space and not leave any blue paper showing.

Five:
Have them first cover the fish or turtle with glue, and then place the appropriate color pieces on them. Have the students work on one at a time.

This project was done by someone I work with.
